Dear Professor:

Miss Fang began her study at the Department of Economics in 1994. It was in one of my lectures that I got to know her. What made her impressive was her sensible and creative questions. Although she has never been a student in any of my courses, she often consulted with me about problems related to economics. So, I am quite familiar with her.

Miss Fang is a hard—working, sincere and intelligent lady. Her good performance in undergraduate study can demonstrate her potential ability. More recommendable, she shows an intense inner drive to improve herself and never satisfied with her own achievements.

I have noticed that Miss Fang does not direct all her efforts to exams but to extensive reading in related fields. History, Sociology, Behavior Science and even Ethnography are all intriguing to her. As a matter of fact, she has a wide range of general knowledge.

Miss Fang is good at expressing her thought concisely and interestingly. Having almost fifty years teaching experience, I am sure of her potential as a good teacher. Also valuable is her proficiency in English. Every time my foreign friends talked with Miss Fang, they all took her English as pure and idiomatic.

As to personal character, honesty and cooperativeness may be two main points in Miss Fang .In fact, her optimistic and easy—going nature has made her a central figure among her classmates.
